Ce que j’aime à Los Angeles, ce sont les quartiers ethniques et le centre historique. Mais ce qui est certain, c’est que la ville et ses voisines regorgent de couleurs !

What I love in LA, are the ethnic parts and the historical center. What’s obvious are the vibrant colors in Los Angeles and her neighbors!

Voici quelques photos prises à la station de métro “Universal City”, près de Universal Studios. Il s’agit de décorations murales en carrelage vraiment originales. L’art urbain à Los Angeles est de manière générale fascinant.

Here are few pictures I’ve taken at the Metro station “Universal City”, near Universal studios. They represent tile murals. Very original! Urban art in Los Angeles is generally speaking fascinating!

Et voilà les dernières photos de Los Angeles: du bar-restaurant-pâtisserie “Bottega Louis” au centre-ville de Los Angeles (mmmh) où j’ai rencontré une amie et collègue américaine (salut, Dawn !), à l’Université de Californie, où on accueillait les étudiants acceptés avec fanfare pour les persuader de s’inscrire (ambiance très cinéma car l’orchestre jouait beaucoup de BO et l’université a un imposant département d’études cinématographiques hébergé dans de somptueux bâtiments aux noms connus: George Lucas, Frank Sinatra etc…), en passant par Hollywood Boulevard, intéressant pour son Kodak Theater et son Chinese Theater (parce que le reste… Mieux vaut s’intéresser aux rues parallèles où le vieil hollywood a laissé ses traces architecturales.)

And here are the latest pictures of Los Angeles: from the bar-restaurant-bakery “Bottega Louis” in downtown Los Angeles (mmmh) where I met an American friend and colleague (hello, Dawn!), to the University of California, where accepted students were welcomed with fanfare music to persuade them to register (the tone was very cinematic, since the band played a lot of soundtracks and UCLA has an impressive department of Cinema Studies, located in sumptuous buildings, named after George Lucas, Frank Sinatra etc. …), and to Hollywood Boulevard, famous for its Kodak Theater & Chinese Theater (the rest … ah well…Check out the parallel streets where the old Hollywood has left a beautiful architectural footprint.)
